Many students struggle with issues of memory, inattention, and processing. An increasing amount of research indicates that cognitive training may help improve mental acuity. Just as physical training helps to strengthen the body, cognitive training can help strengthen the mind. Recent studies have also indicated beneficial results of cognitive training for individuals with ADHD, epilepsy, traumatic brain injuries, learning disabilities, dementia, and other cognitive impairments. While cognitive training is not a cure for cognitive impairment, many individuals have shown improvement in cognitive skills, especially in the area of working memory.
The Fort Worth Cognitive Training Center provides individuals with the opportunity to utilize state of the art cognitive training software as part of a comprehensive program. Participants are engaged through game like computer exercises and instant feedback. Our computer software offers challenging, brain training exercise which stimulate the areas of the brain that are responsible for working memory, attention, impulse control, conceptual reasoning, visual and auditory processing, and more.
Cognitive training software is best used as a component of a supervised and comprehensive intervention program. Cognitive training is not a substitute for consultation with a professional and is not intended as a standalone intervention.
